Installing Subversion client for a single user on Linux

From: Kenneth Porter <shiva_at_sewingwitch.com>

I want to install a Subversion client on my web host for my own use (to
keep WordPress upgraded easily). I know how to install Subversion as an
RPM, but in this case it's not my host, so I'm at the mercy of the hosting
service, and they haven't responded to my ticket requesting that it be
installed. (It's a CentOS 4 system, so it's not technically hard for them
to do; Subversion is in the CentOS 4 yum repository.)
