For Windows my team uses TortoiseSVN and SmartSVN as their two choices for clients. Tortoise can't be used on Mac, of course, but SmartSVN is Java based and can be used. For non-development users who are using version control for the first time we recommend Tortoise, but I'm not aware of something similar for Mac.
