I am interested in this concept. I had a bit of a scare when someone
told me that the SOX auditors were considering the idea of choosing a
random file and revision and demanding to see all downstream changes, in
all branches, thus requiring exactly this forward in time feature. Upon
further discussion, I confirmed that it is not an impending requirement,
but the idea was floated.

I'm afraid the time may come when it will be legally required, even
though it does not make sense. I hope the design leaders on Subversion
know about this possibility and are reviewing it!
