Hi Karl, thanks for the quick response, I changed my command to spawn
from a sudo (and made the necessary NOPASSWD lines in /etc/sudoers)
and everything worked. It is unfortunate that Apache or the OS has
such poor diagnostics -- I didn't see errors anywhere in any logs!
