I concur. I discovered this a couple months ago when I was
experimenting. In my experience when switching away from an external,
it works, but leaves the files and folders in the workspace. The
problem occurs when switching back and SVN finds there are already
files/folders in the spot it expects to put the external data -
ka-blooie!
