I'd like to report as a bug that the error message does not contain the
name of the file searched.
(I misinterpreted this to mean the file: URL that I was using to try out
SVN commands, and gave up after a while of fruitless searching for the
cause.)
(Note to Ryan: that's the cause why I thought that svn list doesn't
work. Now in hindsight, I see that it was exactly the commands that
needed repository access would fail with that message.)

Anybody willing to buddy for the bug report?

Regards,
Jo
