many projects: one or many repositories?

Hi folks,

We have a dozen or so projects going on around here, and currently we
have all in the same SVN repository. However, we wonder if this is too
many eggs in one basket, and perhaps we should split the repo and put
each project in its own.

Are there generally accepted best practices for this sort of thing?
Other suggestions?
