    No need. Download my universal binary here:

http://downloads.open.collab.net/binaries.html

It includes Apache 2.2 modules, which is installed on Leopard, Java,
Perl, Python and Ruby bindings. It has been in the wild for 5 months
now and appears to be stable. Also, it lives side by side with the
Leopard install and even has local BDB support. I hope this helps.
