It wasn't read-only if you managed to commit to it ;-) As a matter of
good housekeeping you may want to fix that before you recover and open
it back up again.

As for recovery, the easiest thing may be to just re-create the mirror
repository. I don't know of any quick yet clean shortcuts to make
errant revision go away.
