How to use a constant part in multiple branches

Hi,

we have svn installed here and are very happy with it. I now have the issue
that I have source that comes from an external partner and is expected to
change significantly in the next weeks. No big problem for me since the
interfaces should stay the same.

But we have two development lines that are realized in the svn repository as
trunk and an additional branch. I want to keep one copy of the source I get
from the external partner in the repository but when I check out the trunk
or the branch the design shall be checked out to to a convenient place.
Ideally when I check out one of our designs a checkout of this external
partners source is done to a subdirectory.

Having this source in a seperate branch is no problem but how do I trigger
automatic checkout of it?

Best regards,
Matthias Feurstein
