merge fails with "Could not get content-type from response"

Hello,

I am having a problem with merge failing. The merge chunks along for a
while, then quits with the message:

svn: Could not get content-type from response

This is exactly issue 2761:
http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2761

which was closed due to lack of reproduction steps and output. So let me
try to address that. The command issued was:

svn merge URL1@N URL2@M .

The output looks as expected; just a list of files that are being
updated, added, deleted, etc. Then the client just quits with the error
message above. I know that is not much, but when you get a one-line
error there is not much to offer!

One thing that might be a factor is this merge will result in a large
patch set. Could this be a timeout problem with Apache?

Client: 1.4.5 (Win32 under Cygwin)
Server: 1.2.3 (Linux)
Access: ra_dav

Thanks,
Mark
