Help applying path and building

Hello all,

I'm using Subversion in a windows environment, hosted via Apache, and
want to integrate LDAP groups into my configuration, to simplify
management of the repositories.

I have searched through the issue tracker and found the following items:

http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2338

which points to

http://svn.haxx.se/dev/archive-2006-07/0107.shtml

Can someone explain how to apply the patch posted on the svn.haxx.se
site, to my subversion build? I'm not familiar with doing this and I
really need to get LDAP groups working. I assume that I'll need to
download the appropriate Apache development modules and Subversion
source code (I would like to apply this to v1.4.5) and get those
compiling, first. If you can walk me through the steps of applying to
patch to the mod_auth_svn.c file, I think I can manage to get the rest
of it compiled. If there are any specific tricks I need to know, though,
please share.

Any additional pointers, tips, etc. on how to get LDAP groups working in
my SVN configuration would be great.

Thanks.
