switch bug?

Hi,

I just had a problem when switching from a branch back to the trunk: in
the branch I had a new directory, in which a file was locked by the IDE.
When svn tried to delete that file and its directory in the course of
switching, it stopped with an error (saying that it would not delete) and
in an inconsistent state. (neither clean up nor update would work any
more; only manually deleting the new directory from the branch would
help.)
This issues seems to be similar to issue 2505?

I am not sure, whether trying a dry run would have helped!?

What are your opinions on this issue?
