Hi Timothy,
we had the same problem, we solved it by signing our SSL-certificate by
a selfmade RootCA which we configured in the
* ssl-authority-files *
sections of your $HOME/.subversion/servers-File. For signing your
SSL-Certificate I can recommend this URL:

Chapter 2 will deal with all you need.
