Well, while those are all good points indeed, I only find them
convincing for keeping the binaries in a sourceforge or ibiblio style
_archive repository_, but not necessarily an SCM.

IMHO, most, if not all, of the benefits of keeping the source code in
an SCM don't apply to binaries. There isn't much diffing or merging we
can do anyway.
