Associating Release Number with revision Numbers

Hello,

Just getting my feet wet......

I am trying to create a Release Number and Version control Process for
my team. Our small development group is growing rapidly, and we have
come to a point of needing to formalize version tracking.

We are currently using Subversion for version control in our
development, testing, and production environments. This seems to work
nicely for the developers.

What I need is a way to associate a release number to a series of
Revision numbers. I want to be able to store this data in the
Subversion info for each app, and manually control the release numbers.

How can I accomplish this?
