Subversion merge tracking for early adopters

Dear Subversion users,

As you know, Subversion 1.5 will include much anticipated merge tracking functionality. CollabNet wants to support this important development with a Merge Tracking Early Adopter Program. The goals of this program are to assist the Subversion committers with active testing, to collect enhancement requests and to give you early access to the feature so you can plan for the future.

The home of the program is at http://merge-tracking.open.collab.net. Here you can find links to documents related to Merge Tracking (such as the design specs), beta release binaries, a repository with merge tracking history built-in (for testing purposes) and a forum to discuss Subversion 1.5 and merge tracking in general.

We are looking for many people to join and be very active, only then can the program successfully contribute to the development efforts. If you choose to join us, please be willing to commit to downloading and installing the software, spending significant time testing and reviewing the merge tracking feature and actively participating in the discussion forum (specially for bug reporting).

The Merge Tracking Early Adopter Program serves to support the Subversion project and we will tie into the normal processes that the development team uses. Potential defects will be discussed in the discussion forum and, if deemed real, we will forward them to the Subversion developers by logging them in Subversion's issue database or sending an email to dev@.  Also, all discussions will be publicly visible. We are working closely with the committers and have let them know about the Early Adopter Program a few weeks ago. Some of the committers are active in the project.

If merge tracking is important to you, join the Early Adopter Program and together with others help the Subversion development team make the merge tracking feature as robust as possible.
