As far as I know Apache is always needed if you would like to
authenticate in such a special way(LDAP, Domain or the like).
If you run apache you also have the reposirtory available over
http
without a lot of effort, which is helpful if you do not have
proper svn
tools installed on other computers.
I am not sure you will always need Apache. I believe if you set up the
unix/linux system to authenticate against LDAP, you can then use
svn+ssh:// access method to use subversion. I am not 100% sure about
this, someone can confirm?
But I do agree that it is helpful to run Apache. If you want to setup a
repository browser, for example, then you need to run Apache anyway. So
as well use http:// access method.

Hi
Is it possible to allow users to use their domain logins without
having
to run Apache?
Thanks in advance
