Running a SVN Server - help!

Hi! I used SVN before only to download sources for different projects
(rockbox, kiba-dock, beryl, etc...) but I don't really know how to use it to
maintain a project. I wanted to run a SVN server in my Kubuntu box to host a
project for my group in the university. I would use it from Linux with eSVN
(which I guess will be more intuitive than the command line) and they will
use TortoiseSVN from Windows.

I've followed this (
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/stable/server/svnserver.html)
guide with no trouble, but now I don't know how to checkout the (empty)
project from command line, or eSVN... nor how to add files to it, since I
don't know the URL.
I tried 'svn checkout http://localhost/svnpl trunk' or 'svn checkout
svn://localhost/svnpl trunk' with no luck, but I was only guessing. I don't
want to try any other guide because I don't to mess my system... So wanted
to ask for some advice. I hope someone can help.

Regards,

Bruno
