I have seen this behaviour when I have Apache rewriting URLs.
Particularly, if I have a set of rules that rewrites http://hostname/
to http://hostname.fully.qualified.domain.name
To test this, use your web browser to examine your repo and see what
URL is displayed in the address bar.
In my example if I typed in http://hostname/svn/repo into the address
bar, when the repo is displayed, the address bar would contain
http://hostname.fully.qualified.domain.name/svn/repo
