Too many open files???

Hi All,

I have just completed setting up svn running over apache 2.0.59.

There seems to be nothing wrong with svn as I can browse and commit fine
when i browse to the svn repository using svn:// however when i try to
commit a file to the repository over http i get the following error (using
tortoise svn):
Modified : /path/to/my/file.txt
Sending Content /path/to/my/file.txt
Error: Commit Failed (details follow):
Error: MERGE request failed on 'svn/landed/trunk'
Error: Can't open directory '/mnt/files/svn/www/landed/trunk/db': Too many
open files

However, the contents of the file seem to be commited and I can see the
history of the file through the log utility.

Any ideas?
