Multiple svnsync to same target

Can we have multiple svnsync commands running in paralle for the same
target?

The scenario is having a svnsync in the post-commit hook and, to avoid
delays for the user making the commit, putting it in the background,
like:

svnsync synchronize http://dest-server/repo-mirror --username foo
--password bar &

I don't think this would work, but it doesn't hurt to ask I guess.
