svn:ignore in auto-props

Hello All,
 
I am trying to set svn:ignore on a directory in the auto-props section, but it never seems to works.
 
Here are the lines from my config file:
log = svn:ignore=*.log
In this case I am trying to auto add svn:ignore so it ignores any file name *.log, but this property is never set. Do auto-props work only on files and not directories or does it not support svn:ignore?
