Partial Check-out, just tree structure

I've seen a couple of posts about this already, but no indication of status.
I've been using SVN for about a half-hour, and I already see the usefulness
of a tree-only (no files) check-out, followed by Update on just the projects
of interest.
 
I'm coming from a VSS background (don't laugh), and we ALWAYS recommend
keeping your local copy in the same folder tree structure as the repository,
to reduce confusion.
