Hi J,
 
This was how I solved it.
export LC_ALL=C

I set it in "/etc/profile" so that it applies to all sessions >>you must be root to do this.

Hi Brian, sorry to just be a random person contacting you but I am
having the same issue with locales as you described below on a similar
setup. Did you ever find a solution? I haven't had much luck finding
any information online.
