I gotta throw in a word of support here. I sometimes work with
graphics people and the OP is right, they are not like us. They
don't think like us and they don't want to. I think you are all
vastly underestimating the immense resistance *some* graphic
designers have to anything that isn't part of their definition of the
creative process. Not all, of course, but I have seen this often
enough to have no trouble whatsoever envisioning the situation he is
in, and to sympathize.

This may not make solving the problem any easier, but I just wanted
to say that I think you all (not just Jeff) are being unnecessarily
hard on the guy.
