Nevermind! I made the noob mistake of unpacking the dependency
tarball, which was not necessary (the dependencies were already in
place from the previous 1.3.1 install). I reran the "./configure",
"make", "make install" sequence from a clean tarball copy, and all is
well. For reference, I found the "/.configure --enable-shared" option
helps with the make error below.
I would like to help if I can, by creating an rpm from my
environment, as I'm sure others will want it, as the SLES10
distribution gains some steam. I will look around for HOWTOs, but any
pointers would be appreciated.
