RE: svnadmin dump : Intermittent Checksum mismatch

Just to post back to the list to say thank you to everyone for the help, we
love SVN.
Everything is working now. A quick upgrade of Subversive and NativeHL fixed
it.

Thanks

Alex.

Cool! Thanks for the reply memtest is great.
It initially failed, then a quick re-seating of the ram chips and memtest
passed. Now svnadmin dump has been fine for 3 days.

Interestingly we now get a "malformed network data" whenever we commit from
subversive in eclipse.
Maybe the box is just dying :)

Thanks again

Alex.

And you have run memtest86 and came up with nothing?

Many Thanks Erik,
Unfortunately there are no SMART errors appearing, nor anything in the logs.
So we are still a little confused as to whats going on :)

Thanks again

Alex.

Check your system logs for a failing hard drive, too. I've seen this kind
of error when svn tries to write to a bad (or a dubious) block on the disk.
If you have a way of interrogating the SMART data on the drive (such as with
smartd), that may give you some insight.

If you get a clean dump with no errors, I suggest saving it to somewhere
safe, just as protection.
