Depending on what you mean by "all the history", there might not be any
option for you. Keeping all the history means that you need to keep the
repository as it is.

The posts about dumping, filtering and loading can help you keep "most of"
or "all the really important" history, but not all of it.

You might be able to split the repository, and keep one inactive repository
with old, superseded history and another active one that developers use.

Perhaps if you can explain the reason for needing to reduce size (out of
disk space, backups take too long, users are complaining, or whatever) you
can get more specific help.
