        Yes and no (see my other posts wrt mixed rev support and
        unversioned properties).

        Every tool has its worts. SCM however is 90% process, 10% tools.

        SVN is very close to what it should be. Real label (tag) support
        and a little bit of improvement on its historical reporting
        abilities (two features somewhat linked) would quickly bring it
        up to world class level. So I argue for such improvements and I'm
        working through the code myself to see if I can't put some real
        code behind my arguments.

        I'm also not advocating removing/replacing the current tag idea.
        For many use cases it's fine. For a great many others however it
        is not and so for such situations I'm arguing for a rather minor
        addition: Real label support. Again, SCM is 90% process and so
        the end user would get to decide which features or combination
        of them best supported his/her chosen process.
