Subversion client on Vista?

From: Field, Tom <TField_at_QuickPen.com>

I'm trying to get Subversion 1.4.0 to run on Windows Vista RTM when
accessing via VPN.

Although a Windows XP machine can see our Subversion Repository, Windows
Vista cannot.

Non-VPN access (when plugged into the corporate LAN directly) works
fine.

Even trying to access the repository through IE or FireFox
(http://server-name/SVN/SRC)
fails to show me the username/password dialog box). I don't know any
subversion commands,
since we use ssvn.

I know this is more an IT issue (the server is Apache...), my IT staff
hasn't been
very responsive to my problem. And, I'm hoping that someone here the
niche familiarity
with this kind of connectivity problem as it relates to http: access (if
that's what this
is).

TIA
