Installing subversion 1-4.2 (Help Required)

HI. Can somebody send me the steps used for setting up a subversion server.I tried the same through docs available on the net but it didn't help.The requirement is as follows 1> To access repositories over http. 2> For uploading/downloading files from repository on the network i want to use svn protocol. Could someone guide me through the complete process.
