Revision into Exif

Hi guys
I'm using subversion at home for archiving my pictures(i'm a photographer), o I have the original as well as any manipulated version of a picture in the history.

Usually, those pictures are in CR2(Canon RAW), JPEG or TIFF format. Those formats have so called EXIF datas, where you can store keywords in the pictures.
Is there any way to put the revision number of such a picture into the exif data?

I heard about hook scripts, but I did not find something that does the job...

Thanks,

Remo
