REPORT error response (Chunk delimiter was invalid).

We are having problems with checkouts failing part way through. The
client sees this:

svn: REPORT request failed on '/svn/randd/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: REPORT of '/svn/randd/!svn/vcc/default': Chunk delimiter was
invalid (http://svn.eurotherm.co.uk)

And this is in the Apache error log:

[Wed Dec 20 10:44:24 2006] [error] [client 149.121.135.7]\
Provider encountered an error while streaming a REPORT response.

[Wed Dec 20 10:44:24 2006] [error] [client 149.121.135.7]\
A failure occurred while driving the update report editor [500, #190004]

Client was svn command line on Windows/XP. I am pretty sure TortoiseSVN
users are seeing the same, although I would expect that.

The server is Fedora Core 4 with hand built Subversion 1.4.2.

The Fedora Core RPMS were used to install Apache 2.0.54 and apr 0.9.6.

Server hardware is a Dell four processor machine with a couple of gigs
of RAM and a RAID disc system. It has two ethernet interfaces which are
on different networks.
