Thanks for the replies.
Indeed, the mv-operation worked fine.
And since I did not change the URL, the client's repositories do not need to be switched.

I executed the following steps.

1. Stop the Apache2.
2. Move the repo.
3. Adjust the directory in Apache's config file "/etc/apache2/httpd.conf".
4. Restart the Apache2.
