You may want to ignore the fact that the remote project uses
Subversion, and simply follow the vendor branch strategy outlined in
the book:

http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.2/svn.advanced.vendorbr.html

And use the svn_load_dirs.pl script to load new versions of the
remote project into your local repository:

http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/contrib/client-side/
