I think he's asking that Subversion unpack OpenDocument files so that
the contents can be diffed just like any other text/html file.

If the concern is about space used by the files in the repository and
hoping that unpacking them will lead to smaller diffs, Subversion does
binary diffing on files, so the gains may be minimal in many cases.

OpenOffice.org has the ability to visually represent the differences
between 2 files in OpenDocument format; TortoiseSVN comes with a
couple VBScript scripts which make use of this feature.

Asking Subversion to fundamentally change how it processes specific
file types and have special "features" for them is going too far,
IMHO.
