Reading one svndiff window read beyond the end of the representation

In March, Jakob Langeland also reported this problem, a failure to
commit and the error: "Error: Reading one svndiff window read beyond the
end of the representation"

http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ReadMsg?listName=users&msgNo=47086

It was suggested that "svnadmin verify" be ran against the repository,
and if the error message failed with the same sort of error, then it
definitely indicated a repository problem.

I have recently encountered the same issue, and am looking for
information and assistance in the recovery of the repository, and if it
is possible, recommendations on how to prevent a reoccurrence.

Some details about the environment:
Subversion 1.3.2
Red Hat Enterprise Linux EX release 4 (Nahant Update 3)
SVNParentPath repository access via https with mod_dav_svn and
mod_authz_svn
