Modified my authorization file as follows, but nothing seems to work.

[groups]
tr = joe, frank
tg = mitch, rave
everyone = joe, frank, mitch, rave
 
[Trial:/]
@everyone = r

#Project Trial
[Trial:/Trial1]
joe =
@tr = rw

#Project Test
[Test:/Test1]
joe = rw
frank = r

In the above repository Trial; joe gets the read-write permission even if he
is mentioned with no-access for the folder "Trial1". But repository Test
works fine.
