I have been following this thread since it started. But my question
was completely wrong. I'll try to rephrase it...

What commands can you do with a label/revision no (using -r<label>)
that you can't do with a tag (using the tag url)?

If there are none, then it comes down to saying "My users are used
to the CVS command line, and can't cope with doing things a slightly
different way". If it does come down to that, then your case is very
weak.

But I suspect there are things you just can't do with a tag - I just
want to know what they are.
