Repository size increase with v1.4.x

Hi,

I tried out new release of subversion (both 1.4.0 and 1.4.2) on a test
Linux workstation (RHEL WS 4). Berkley DB 4.4.20 and Apache httpd
2.0.58. When I did a dump/load of our existing repository, the size
grew by about 1.5 G. I thought it should go down. Any thoughts?
