I think I have gotten that as a libneon error when using https://
access methods. Going through svn+ssh:// worked fine. There was some
type of WebDAV error as I recall. Sorry for not having more
information.

The case I am remembering had strange unintended data in the log
message. I walked all of the log messages to find the ones that had
bad data and corrected them using svnadmin.
