Delete and move feature

I know that this has been discussed several times in this forum, but I do
have something productive to add.

I've recently run into a problem where I need to extract the change
history of a project I have into a separate repository that will be shared
by several of us in the lab. The old structure was:

Research/XCSJava/trunk

I ideally I would move this into a shared subversion repository under the
name XCSJava

XCSJava

So I do a dump, filter it, and load it into the new repository.

Unfortunately this doesn't work. You see the project directory has been
moved around inside the repository a few times. Filtering the dump file
just isn't very intuitive under these circumstances.

I could request a feature that allowed an administrative user to move
around old versions of directories, but I know that has come up before.

In the future I will use the directory structure to store several
different repositories. I really think having a repository that doesn't
have trunk/tags/branches at the top level is just asking for trouble in
the future. Logically separate projects should have their own
repositories.
