Richard,
I use a combination of subversion 1.4 from the Darwin/Mac Ports
http://www.darwinports.com and then I use Xcode 2.4 to interface
directly with svn. It's all pretty simple to setup. I suggest you
also look at Port Authority which is a nice wrapper for the darwin
ports system.
