Found problem, passing along fix to others who may run
into this. The server I was building svn 1.4 on had
old rpm installs of svn 1.0.x, neon-0.24 and apache.
This meant I had a bad mod_dav_svn.so and linked to
incompatible shared library files.
Did:
rpm -e -nodeps <lib to remove>
on all the old libraries. Ran ldconfig -p and checked
that old libs were gone. Recompiled everything again.
Replaced mod_dav_svn.so in the apache/modules
directory. And all is good!
Hope this helps someone else!
