fwiw, I build one on AIX 5.3 and it seems to work fine.

(I built a 64-bit Python and Subversion hoping it would get around
the failures which seem to occasionally report out-of-memory when
running cvs2svn on a large (~7.8Gb on disk) CVS repository with
cvs2svn. Unfortunately, that didn't help.)
