Possible enhancement

All

Does Subversion provide a mechanism that would allow revision details to
be embedded in source code? If not, would such a capability be
worthwhile adding? The sort of thing I was thinking about was some sort
of simple macro replacement on commit. For example something like:

        #SubversionMacro# string:="Revision=#Rev#, updated on #date#";
//replace line below
        string:="Revision=1, updated on 01/06/2006";

I have searched the documentation but can't see anything like this.

Thanks Brian
