As far as I have understood the 'server' need of Subversion, I think you would have to run either svnserve or an Apache
server on each of the computers you want to use for repository access. I cannot tell you whether your intended set-up is
feasible.

Assuming you use Windows XP, then in "Control Panel | Administrative tools | Computer management" you can force the
drive letter you want to use for that external disk. That gives you a way to standardize on the same drive letter on
each of the computers used.
