Reference to Non-Existent Node ... (Help!)

From: Bill Cohagan <cohagan_at_acm.org>

Running SVN 1.3.1.19032, server on Windows Server 2003, client on Win XP
SP2.

My SVN repository appears to be corrupt which of course means I've
potentially lost a LOT of work! In several different folders I'm getting
message of the form:

Error *Reference to non-existent node 'k.3.c7' in filesystem
'/SVNRepository/db'

The k.3.c7 portion varies, but the remainder of the text is the same across
the several errors. I'm seeing this error in the TortoiseSVN Repository
Browser, but am assuming the problem exists on the SVNServer, specifically
in the db folder of the repository.

I have no idea how/why this has happened and no clue as to how I might
recover. Yes I (maybe) have a backup, but I'd still lose a fair amount of
work.

So, is there a known cause for such an error and, more important, is there a
way to recover?

TIA
