[Fwd: Repository inside working copy]

Hi,

I'd like to put my entire home directory under version control, using
svn. And since I don't have access to much outside my home dir, I
thought I could set up a repository inside, say at ~/.svnrepo/, and add
that to svn:ignore, then checking out the repo in ~

I realize that having the repo inside the working copy, is not something
I'm supposed to do, and that this violates the whole idea of the wc
being disposable. But that put aside, are there any other reasons I
should not do this?

This would be an alternative to RCS.

I should probably have ~/.opera/cache and some other files and dirs in
the ignore list too, but this I could probably fix.

Aslo, is there a way of keeping some of my dot-files in, day
~/.svnrepo/base, and the rest of the files in ~/.svnrepo/home. This way
I could checkout (through ssh) the latest version of all my config files
on another shell account of mine? Since these would both be checked out
to the same wc, do I have to put all files in one repo in the other
one's ignore-list?
